Grading scale
We grade cards form 1 to 10 inlcuding half points and custom cards like art or authentic.
ART
Said of the card altered by a professional or amateur with great skill using painting techniques, airbrush or both. The art should only appear on the front of the card. Printed cards will not be allowed in this category, they will be rejected. Only handicrafts will be accepted as Art.
AUTHENTIC
A card is given the title of Authentic as long as it is original and has been altered with ink or permanent marker to hide damage, particularly to corners and outlines. This type of card is not graded. Some of them have a good market value and are very old so they will be sealed in a casing like a graded card.
POOR
This is a card that typically shows many of these characteristics: Heavy printing stains, wrinkling(s), minor perforation(s), color imperfections, sharpening, discolorations, surface scratches or tears, rounded or chipped corners, ink or pencil, totally or largely missing original gloss. Several small pieces of the card may be missing.
FAIR
A Fair card is centered at 90/10 or better. This card typically shows many of these features: Heavy printing stains, wrinkling(s), minor perforation(s), color imperfections, sharpening, discolorations, surface scratches or tears, rounded or chipped corners, ink or pencil marks , totally or largely missing the original brightness. A small piece of the card may be missing.
GOOD
A Good card is centered at 90/10 or better. This card typically shows one or more of these features: Heavy print stains, heavy wrinkling(s), minor perforation(s), color imperfections, sharpening, discolorations, surface scratches or tears, rounded or chipped corners, ink or pencil, totally or largely missing original gloss.
GOOD+
A Good+ card is a better looking Good card in terms of centering or corner condition.
VG
A Very Good card has 90/10 or better centering, more rounded corners but not excessively rounded, and may have fairly sharp creases. Very poor focus, more visible discoloration and blemishes.
VG+
A VG+ card is a better looking VG card in terms of centering or corner condition.
VG-EX
A Very Good/Excellent card has 85/15 centering or better, corners are somewhat rounded with modest surface wear. Slight creases or small cracks may be visible on one or both sides of the card. A slight rip or tear on the surface may exist.
VG-EX+
A VG-EX+ card is a better looking VG-EX card in terms of centering or corner condition.
EX
An Excellent card is a card with 80/20 or better centering, minor rounding or delamination of its corners, surface curling along its edges (without stripping), a heavily worn surface, or a crease to a side of the card, it may have lost its surface shine with some scratches that does not detract from the aesthetic aspect of the card.
EX+
An EX+ card is an EX card with better centered appearance and better corner condition.
EX-NM
An Excellent/Near Mint card has 75/25 or better centering, shows delamination in the corners, there are obvious cuts in the surface, there may be blurring, and there may be some wear marks on the profiles.
EX-NM+
This card has 75/25 centering or better, light corner wear, minor scratches, some print smudges or smear/splatter, print lines or refractory are acceptable. The card can be shown slightly skewed superficially speaking (diamond-like clean cut).
NM
Attributes of a Near Mint 7 card include 70/30 centering or better, light wear in some corners, minor scratches, some print smudges or smear/splatter, print lines or refractory lines are acceptable. The card can be shown slightly skewed superficially speaking (diamond-like clean cut).
NM+
This card is centered at 70/30 or better. A few blemishes will appear if you examine it carefully. A small defect may exist including but not limited to: a small wear affecting a corner, a break in gloss or surface scratch, a small refractory line, a small blurring or imperfection in color or a small print stain.
NM-MINT
A Near Mint / Mint 8 card has 65/35 centering or better, sharp corners to the naked eye but may show little wear upon close examination. A few blemishes will appear if you examine it carefully. A small defect may exist including not only: a small wear affecting a corner, a break in gloss or surface scratch, a small printing line or a small refractory line, a small blur or color imperfection or a small print stain.
NM-MINT+
A Near Mint / Mint+ card must have 65/35 or better centering and all four sharp corners. May have a few blemishes upon close examination. A little defect may exist including not only: a slight scratch in a corner, a little break in gloss or a scratch on the surface, a little print line or a little refractory line, a little blurring or imperfection in color or a small print stain.
MINT
Attributes of a Mint card include 60/40 or better centering, careful focus, and all four sharp corners. A small imperfection may exist upon close examination. A little defect may exist including not only: a slight scratch in a corner, a little break in gloss or a scratch on the surface, a little print line or a little refractory line, a little blurring or imperfection in color or a small print stain.
GEM MINT
Gem Mint card attributes include 55/45 centering or better, sharp focus, all four sharp corners, free of blemishes or dirt, no breaks in surface gloss, no print lines or refractory lines, and no visible wear. A small printing imperfection is allowed as long as it does not affect the aesthetics of the card.
PERFECT
A card graded Perfect is virtually a flawless card. These attributes include 50/50 centering, sharp focus, all four sharp corners, free of smears or dirt, no breaks in surface gloss, no print lines or refractory lines, and no chart wear checked under augmentation methods.
